just got one of these on the bench, client says, hums, no output, distorted sound (not sure how you can distorted sound with no output!) At any rate, open it up, dusty and dirty inside the cage, one channel has replacement transistors on one heat sink as well as white stuff on the lower fins, looks like heat sink compound. The can cap in the middle is a bit bulged, there is also more spatters of white stuff (electrolyte?) inside. The big cans look OK but will need to be tested, I am guessing a total recap is in order but just wondering where I might want to start on this beast. Thanks!

There is a schematic in the Akdatabase. Amp was in production for many many years, and had a number of updates, so the free schematic might not match your unit but will get you started.

Check your voltages against the schematic.

Use AK search function to find many threads on the many DIY repairs attempted, most often with success by members. There are some unique issues that have come up since this amp was introduced in the late 60s.
