The major items, like the Crowns, will probably go close to retail. But there are so many parts, tools and storage solutions that may fly a bit under the radar.
I lived in Asheville, NC for 3 years and started following this company Atomic Furnishing & Design. They always have nice MCM stuff. Check them out! No affil.
Sometimes there is a sale where the most valued item(s) may not even be shown. In such cases, you need to know when to start pulling a thread out of the background cloth. This is such an example... I have never before seen a roll-around console with a receiver and a mixing board, along with a decent Garrard TT, used as the base for a whole house intercom system. The kicker is the speakers used throughout the house - in the time the HK Galaxy was being sold, the satellite speakers generally were full range Jensens or Altec 755A or 755Bs. This sale is worth chasing things down, plus it has a killer Probber curio cab. https://www.estatesales.net/IL/Oak-Brook/60523/1115244?highlight=Tubing
I have never, ever seen Altec little Big Red Ones in a console where they looked somewhat small. That cubby is going to be 9' to 11' wide. Nakamichi, Ampex, and McIntosh with Altec speakers...that is a pretty good turnkey, all in one starter stereo!
wish i had found this earlier... i would have loved that wall/stereo piece..... im local and its sold..... along with everything else..... next time! ec
