Anyone knowledgeable on repairing portable minidisc players?
I finally found a sony MZ-R5ST (dock station with LCD) and had it shipped from Japan. The photos and description showed the player working. However,I can't get it to play due to a disc error. I tried using different minidisc and cleaned the lens,but I can't get it to play due to this error. I'm guessing the player may have got banged up during the shipping process.
The manual isn't much help. It just recommends trying a different disc. I've fixed portable cd players & walkmans before, but I have no idea where to start on this unit. Anyone got any advice or know of a person that repairs portable Minidisc players?
If it's any help, I believe the player is a based on a MZ-R50
