Modern single-driver speakers - thoughts ?

Wanted to get the groups thoughts on a good 12" full range driver for some open baffles. Currently looking at the Eminence Beta 12LTA and the Fane 12-250TC. On paper the Fane seems to be the better performer at a slightly higher price. However I'm also looking to add a tweeter down the line which might even things up between the two.

If there are other 12" full range driver that are successful I would love to know.

I'll be using these in my next OB build. You can often find them for very reasonable prices on eBay. Some of the 12" Zenith Alnico's carried slightly different numbers but I believe they're very similar.

I tried the 12" Zeniths in mock up OB's awhile back ( pictured below ). But now the "Glow in The Dark" blog has confirmed what I thought I was hearing. I'll put them in a baffle atop the H-frames and listen with a tweeter and without. Now that the weather is getting cooler I'm ready to make some sawdust in the garage.
