MONSTER receiver collector's club

Not on list but meet stated rquirements of TOTL or > 120WPC:

Sansui 881
Sansui 9090DB
Sony 6065

I currently own 2 SX-1250's in my collection and also used to have a Kenwood KR-9050, which was an excellent receiver with a very sensitive and quiet fm front end, but i sold it :dammit:

Well the fun never stops... I count three of these Monster Receivers in my Vintage Room. My three sons! Pioneer SX-1980. SX-1280, and SX-1250

Wow, didn't know you had those two big monsters, particularly the 2600. :thmbsp: Do you use them?

Not often, which is a shame. They both came back from EW's in much better than new condition, but we moved shortly after that, and they're still waiting for extra room to free up.

Update:

The Sansui 9090DB is now gone to a good home, but the Tandberg TOTL receiver collection has grown:

TR 2075 (1975-76)
TR 2075 MKII (1976-77)
TR 2080 (1978-82)
TPR 3080A ('80s)

And I may have a TR 1055 (1974-75) to add shortly, which would complete the flagship TR receiver model collection, as all of the other receivers they made were either Huldra or Solvsuper models.

John

Both TOTL for Tandberg in the years they were produced, though shy of the 120 WPC criteria:

TR 2075 MkII
TR 2080

And, in temporary residence: Sansui 9090DB

jimmy64......WWWOOOWWW,....very nice setup! What speakers do run with thos 'sons'?

Edit: Sorry...I got so absorbed by the picture that I didn't see your signature............JBL's.............great!

Hopefully I will be a REAL member of this club very soon.............

Had a Pioneer SX-1080 (48 lbs., 120 watts per), but I recently sold it. I now have a Sansui 9090 (110 watts per) that is actually 6 pounds heavier than the Pioneer. Both sound wonderful, but I kept the Sansui because it has a bit more balls and runs cooler while driving my Dahlquist DQ-10s. The Pioneer was a little sweeter in the highs though.

Drats! I'm one short. I have two and I don't know which is my favorite at this time:
1) Yamaha CR-2020
2) Pioneer SX-1050
Both require lifting by forklift. :D

My Pioneer was tested by a Mac. tech when it was about 3yrs. old and on one channel it put out 121 watts into 8 ohms. the other channel put out 112 watts.
