Mullard Shmullard

I'd love to see your tube collection Jay. Do you still have all those 83's I sold you?

I've never had a 6BQ5 from Holland that didn't sound good. The Mullard 6BQ5's with the holes and smoke rings were outstanding output tubes.

Sure do, one resides in my 2A3 job, and one is doing duty in my Hickok 800.
I always called those tubes above, "Smokey Mullards" and I've never been able to even put any wear on them. Eico stuff is a good place to find them.

Hey, while we're talking tubes here, does anyone have a way to prevent damaging the chalk printing on Telefunken tubes? I just scrapped out a couple old portable Tele RTRs and each one had a perfect 12AX7 that test just fine. I'd really like to save the printing somehow when I box them up. Kinda cool little amps in these things. 12AX7, EF86, EL95 output wired SET. Cute little OPTs too that couldn't be simpler (4 wires total and for 8 ohm speaker). They're old enough to be mono, but I have 2 of them. :)
