Kale,

Take another photo on the other side. That's where the part number is written. The blue color marking indicates the ceramic filter has a 10.67MHz center frequency.

Try joining this Yahoo group as well -> http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FMtuners. The information you need is under the file section -> http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FMtuners/files/Murata Ceramic Filter Information/

Thank you Joe for this info, now I have picture of the other side, I see on Murata old (before year 2001) pdf catalogue that they have two models of SFE10.7MA filters, SFE MA8 and SFE MA19. Which is my?

Regards!

Kale,

My guess is SFE MA -> 280kHz, not MA19 or MA20. The IF BW (350kHz AND 330kHz) of the last 2 is too wide for modern FM broadcast reception. There are several flavors for SFE MAs, all of them are 280kHz wide. Sansui probably used the low G.D.T. SFE MA8-A. This part provides average insertion loss and low distortion.

Cheers!

Joe

I wrote Steve McVie at http://www.stevemcvie.com/DXING.asp and sent him this thread link.

According to Steve:

"Murata filters have a series of letters that end with "M", "S", "J", or "H"
M: 230 or 280khz (not sure)
S: 180khz
J: 150khz
H: 110khz

so I'd say that one is in the 200s, so a wide filter.
Steve"

Joe, Paul thank you for this info. I am not sure can I replace it with some another Murata filters like SFE10.7MS3G-A. But because this original filter has center FRQ 10.67, I think that I will not replace it, Murata filers with blue dot and with G.D.T characteristic is hard to find.

Best regards!
