I recently won the amp on evil bay for 606 plus shipping. My eyesight isn’t what it used to be or I would’ve seen this when I half assed cleaned it. I’m gonna need some work done fellas.

Here is a few more, I removed the tape from the input board, the ground was floating around loose, could’ve shorted out something I would think! Why wouldn’t this board be secured to the chassis?

Fasten that black wire to the metal (grounding) binding post.

Ok I’ll do it first thing in morning output transistor complement. What about that’s white stuff leaking out of that cap? It’s a real hard substance, did you see that?

That is a non-corrosive glue. Nothing to worry about.

yes it will need some work. even if it works now, it needs a provessional review and corrections to whatever work the previous "tech" performed. How far r ya from Fort Dodge, Iowa


That is the cement resistor. I also see the fact that your amp is a E02XX serial number so there might be a bit of extra workon the sub-boards as well. The amp does need a thourough review, nevertheless.

Man that is good news, I Thought it was the end of the world. Still like to fix it. The charred area or Chernobyled, is that a problem?

So I don’t need to worry about the white glue or the slightly Charred area if the amp is working? I am a long ways from Iowa but I’m not beyond shipping the behemoth if need be.
