For the last few months, my wife and I have been tracking the steady progress of our daughter's hike. She started in early March at the Southern beginning of the Appalachian Trail in the mountains of Georgia, and soon paired up with a new friend Allison. They have been staying with it through snow, cold wind and lots of rain. Tomorrow they will make it to mile 1023 in Harpers Ferry, WV. It is not clear right now whether Erin or both will resume the Northern half- it could be that they will fly to Maine and head South from Mt. Katahdin. ( The summer heat is already too much.) In any case, we are super proud of Erin and Allison for staying the course and making it to the half way point! Allison (L) and Erin (R).
