My "Guide" to FM alignment (no tools)

P.S. Well except for a screw driver ;)

Foreward: This guide is really only for those that are getting essentially no reception.

Find your FM Local Potentiometer. Mine was located right by the tuning fins. Take your manual and be sure you've found it.

As a precaution it is advisable to mark the exact location the pot is in before adjusting.

Tune your unit to a radio station you know the exact value of (ex: 98.3). While connected to a form of audio output slowly adjust back and forth until you find the "sweet spot". Try this with several stations if needed for fine tuning.

That's it!

This allowed my Yamaha CR-640 that was horribly aligned to catch my favourite stations.

If you're at your wits end with your tuner, try this simple method.

If anyone would like to comment anything I should change feel free.
