Sorta new here. Wife was gracious to “give” me the former family room for our listening space. Measures 14x14. A channel are DefTech sm65s, mounted on diy stands, 27” off the floor. Receiver pioneer sx3900, TT pioneer pl7, Shure m44-7/n44-7. B channel speakers Technics sb4500a, placed, oddly, behind the couch with tweeter section peeking out either end of the couch.
Been reading about the sound image/stage. When I listen to my go to vinyl Mendelssohn symphony 6 (Scotch) London ffss BB, I get the image of violins mainly from the left, but also sort of towards center. Basses, violas a bit in from right, winds center, I would assume I have the right imaging, therefore placement, etc?? Also, when I listen to our local classical station, announcer is dead center. With the Technics kicked in, the announcer is suddenly right in front of me. Would this be considered a good imaging scenario? Suggestions?
