be forever. I will be getting plasma in a couple years when the
prices become realistic.

In a couple of years you will need a new player, with the way technology is leaping forward by that time a $99 Best Buy jobbie will handily outperform your Mac ;)

Carl,

The three front channel Dacs are 24/192, the surround and subs are 24/96. With the rare 24/192 DVD-A disk the fronts go out to 88,000 kHz frequency response. Of course studio mics rarely go past 30 K!

Ron,
I didn't get that reading the brochure. It certainly is something. :)
I admit I haven't read many reviews about anything anymore, most of them just seem to
gush about the piece of the day using every possible metaphor.
Actually Thor's link was the first I read that I really felt had any credibility. I will pick up a copy of Absolute Sound anyway.
Of course I am a marketing person's nightmare. :p: It was the
16 bit playback that did the convincing. Now if they start making
hybrid DVD-A's I would buy one. But that is one of my favorite rants of DVD-A marketing stupidity and corporate greed as you know. ;)

I decide to pop over to the Emeryville Tower store that actually has parking and picked up a copy of Absolute Sound. A very
good article indeed, no gushing, it gave me the feel as if there
wasn't any perks or kickbacks related to it. Somebody I know was quoted even! ;) I would like to see a similar article on the MA2275.
I may take to buying audio magazines again, at least look at them
again. I'm stubborn but open minded. :)
