...working and sounding great! I just had to go on and buy a C-70 and T-70 (I guess I'm a little OCD about that) and I'm loving being back in the high power Yamaha fold.

I just had to share with the rest of you kids.

Well, in the last two days; first the power meter center lamps went out, then the power button light went out. Have I just purchased a piece of impending doom?

Seems these old filaments had been used enough to become more fragile in old age and with the amp being used more and the music vibrating the lamps those old filaments decided to die. It might possibly be worth the investment of installing new lamps and partying on. Let us know. Other than that, I agree with Avionic.

Thanks, Blue Shadow, that makes sense to me. The amp still plays great, gets a little warm, but plays great.

Thanks, Avionic, but I had already purchased the meter lamps from a seller on that auction site.

As I recall both the C70 and M70 run at a warmer temp than other Yamaha's. But hey we all need something to get OCD about! I love the C70 but both of mine had mid life relay issues. Also modern IC have rather tight fitting so be careful, robust RCA jacks were not Yamaha's strong points. The 70 series are often overlooked but they are rather excellent looking and even better sounding products. Enjoy your box of chocolates!

Thanks Slim! I was a little worried about the heat.
