Sweet! I always liked the wrap around case better than the three cover of the 2600. BTW, be very careful with that cell phone player. Keep the gain down and use the 2500 to bring up the signal. In fact, keep mini players away from anything you value. When they clip, they do bad things to the amp. Your 2500 is far too valuable to take any risk.

Sam thanks! I've been doing just the opposite. Hmm, so a Tablet can do bad things to a receiver? Never knew that. Maybe put something between it and the receiver?

Mini players have miniature output stages which are in essence amplifiers for line signal. Even though line signal is around 2V max, it is preferable to have a robust line amplifier as they are subject to the same constraints as power amplifiers. The more the better to prevent compression and clipping.
 
I love my 2500 and it will stay forever. I play it almost every day. Praying to the transformer gods it doesn't go pop every time I press power.
 
Wow. That is really a beauty. Your pics make me miss mine, a tad. Gone a few years ago along with the 1980. Huge congrats to you and thanks for the Tahoe pics. Stunning.
