My tube system.

Another re-post.

Wanted to post some pics of my system. Receiver is from Terry, (thanks again for the deal!) speakers are Pioneer B20's in homade pine cabinets. I'll probabley add a tweeter to get a little more high end (specs go to 17K, but it still sounds a little flat).

Thanks,

Nice to see the Martel has a good home, so many neat vintage pieces end up in a closet and never see the light of day.

Why the mirror clips holding the driver?

Parts Express gives you a 45 day return on speakers if they are in unmounted condition. They specifically mention screw marks in the mounting plate as being a problem. They also will ding you for residue from speaker gasket seal.

I used 1/4 inch foam weather strip, stuck to the cabinet, and the mirror clips. Viola, I can now test the speakers in their normal position. If I decide they are not to my liking, I can send them back and not get dinged. I think it's pretty cool looking too!
