Nakamichi LX-5 Help: level meters always on

Hi All,

So, long story short, I looked at an LX-5 this eve for solid money on CL, but when I arrived, it did not work, so I said no thanks. Well, I made a ridiculously low offer on it as is, and he accepted!

OK, got it on the bench. It needs a cleaning and lubing, belts and tire would not hurt. Finally got it to play and it actually sounds great! Everything works except the level meters all stay lit up all the time. I am assuming is Orange Cap Disease, but other thought on it?

Turns out to be a known issue with Nak service bulletin # NR-0042.

Well, looks like the IC is dead. Time to look for a parts deck, or just disconnect the meters.
