I think the big draw for the Dragon table was that it had a system of centering the record to compensate for off center holes or pressings. There was a seperate little tonearm that read the record and a microprocessor aligned a moveable center spindle. Some people thought it a major advance, since it removed a source of wow, but apparently not enough did to make it a major success. Given the prices of other super tables, 3k may be no more out of line than any other table.
