Nakamichi

I was just playin' around on ebay and saw someone had a Nakamichi Dragon Turntable for sale. I'm familiar with the tape decks, but this is the first I've heard of the Dragon TT.

Worth looking into?

I've seen a few come up.. seem vastly over priced. 3K range. You could get very nice Linn LP12 for a lot less. I guess if you are a big Nak fan then it might be worth it.

I think the big draw for the Dragon table was that it had a system of centering the record to compensate for off center holes or pressings. There was a seperate little tonearm that read the record and a microprocessor aligned a moveable center spindle. Some people thought it a major advance, since it removed a source of wow, but apparently not enough did to make it a major success. Given the prices of other super tables, 3k may be no more out of line than any other table.
