    hi there,

new here. I have a pair of JBL L166's and the serial numbers are 47457A & 43273A. How do I find out what year these were made? Also, any guess as to what they're worth? They're in good condition, cones look fine, there is a dent in the exterior of one of them from when they were moved. Thanks,

Go to the Lansing Heritage website and they have a section that has many of the old catalogs. You can look through those and see what years they were offered.

Appears that they came out in 1975 and were replaced by the L112s by 1979.

You beat me to it! Dating speakers has always been an iffy prospect, but flowers will do it!

They were still shown on the 1979 price list ($510 each), just no longer in the catalog for that year.
