Need some R2R service in Wis. or Minn.

I need some help for a friend of mine with a Akai R2R model 1730D,

He is visiting us over Christmas and needs to find a place to get his unit serviced,cleaned and new pinch roller back home in Wisconsin. He is about an hour from Minneapolois, Minnesota. any place near that you know of would be a great help. Any Place in Wisconsin? Eau Claire, Madison?
He is really into this hobby, has a garage full just like me, you know the story, just not on the computer yet, maybe one of you AK folks could point him in the right direction.

I think your friend’s best bet would be to find a decent vintage electronics place in MN who knows something about tape decks. Shouldn’t be that hard to find, assuming the deck doesn’t need major repair. A reel-to-reel specialist is likely to charge more than the 1730D is worth. Not trying to be rude in any way but the 1730D is not a deck worth investing a whole lot in.
