I picked this one up a few weeks back, Sounded great but had issues. No relay click & VU Meter lights out.
Dropped it off to my new Tech who found burnt lamps and the relay removed!
No fear though, It’s all ready to go with a new relay, Recaped all around and nice LED white lamps. These are the few pictures he sent me last night. Picking it up after my trip out of town. I’m sure it will sound even better ! More pics to follow

So they took the relay out because it had issues? That's nuts.
Glad it's in good hands now. It's a nice looking amplifier.

The funny part is I LOOKED inside to check the bulbs and didn’t notice it missing, My service guy said “ Well I see problem with the relay” lol. Another than that it was playing nice.
He suggested the new caps and of course I went with it. The initial purchase was low enough price wise to not be in to deep going ahead with it.

It’s a nice little amplifier for sure !! Can’t wait to hear the difference with the recap if any. At least I know it will be in nice shape going forward. What’s the best speaker combo from your experience & ears.

That era of Yamaha hardware mates exceptionally well with Matthew Polk's early "Monitor Series" loudspeakers (Monitor 5, 7, or 10). IMO, of course.

Many good choices, though.
