New or Vintage Marantz

Just curious as to whether any one has a preference for vintage or new Marantz? I had a absolutely mint 4270 that I really liked the sound of (don't have it anymore as a friend heard it and made me an offer I could not pass up). I then bought a PM-14S1 that I really like. I would kinda like to get another vintage Marantz but want to get something different but that sounds as good or better than the 4270. How do the 43xx series sound?

Do you need the quad feature? If you mainly use it for listening to music, I would consider a 2275, 2285, 2325, etc. or if you don’t need a ton of power, my favorite — the 2245. I see a lot of discussion about vintage vs. new. I can’t speak to it because I have never heard a modern Marantz. I’m in this mostly for the nostalgia factor, and those vintage machines sound great. But my guess would be the TOTL Marantz models of today sound as good or better.
