Hey AK,

I'm Jon reporting to you from NYC. I am just starting to get into the audiophile world and this forum has been an amazing resource, so I'm really happy to be part of the community.

I initially found AK while researching turntables. Tons of really helpful posts and while I was initially going to buy something vintage / used, I ultimately decided to purchase a U-Turn Orbit Custom. I'm extremely happy with this purchase!

Next was learning about the setup. Again, from research on AK, I was able to put together my first system. I used my father's old NAD 7240PE amp (which gave me a ton of headaches at first) and bought some entry-level Pioneer BS22 speakers. I couldn't get the amp running, but several members on here helped me through deoxidizing the unit. That thread is here: http://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/no-sound-from-nad-7240pe.756209/page-2

So, now I'm up and running. U-Turn Orbit > NAD 7240PE > Pioneer BS22s. Loving the sound and building my record collection from scratch. Looking forward to continuing to learn here and spend lots of money upgrading and upgrading and upgrading.

Thanks for an excellent community.

Pull up a chair, and enjoy yourself. Welcome to the friendliest and best audio forum on the web.

Should you need to buy more gear (and who doesn't need or want that, lol) consider joining as a member. Bartertown beats the pants off that auction site, and craiglist too, for that matter.

Welcome and thanks for hanging out with us. If you think your speakers are the weak link, used speakers are rather plentiful, inexpensive, and not nearly as much stuff that go wrong if they need fixing. Dig in and have fun!

Welcome. Sounds like you are enjoying your system - and that is what its all about. Be sure to post lots of pictures as we love good stereo porn - - -

Welcome to here...AK!

And yeppers, you are right in that there IS so much to learn. Just when you think you've a handle on things, there's one more corner to navigate.

Have great listening and by the looks of your gear...it wiil happen.
