Main Listening System (in my room):

- Marantz Model 6100 turntable
- Audio-Technica AT71E cartridge (weak link in system; need to upgrade)
- Pioneer SA-7500 II stereo integrated amplifier
- Econo-Waveguide speakers, aka "Peav-e-Wave 112DL"
- JVC XL-M300 6-disc CD changer
- JVC FX-333 digital tuner (shouldn't have sold that Akai AT-V04)

Nothing esoteric here, but I love the sound.

Computer System (YouTube videos, some music)

- Pioneer SA-6500 II stereo integrated amplifier
- Radio Shack/Realistic MC-1200 speakers

Yep, that's all. I haven't even upgraded my sound card from the onboard audio in my computer. I don't do critical listening with this system, but it probably sounds better than just about any computer speakers out there.

Living Room System (my dad's, which I rarely listen to)

**I am omitting video devices (DVD, VCR, TV, etc.)**

- JVC RX-D702 AVR

- Main speakers: DIY Dayton/Vifa/Aurum Cantus
- Center speaker: (2) Bose 100s in series
- Front Surrounds: DIY Tang Band/HiVi Research
- Rear Surrounds: DIY HiVi Research/Dayton
- Subwoofer: (2) DIY Peerless w/ Dayton plate amplifiers, 500w each

- JVC XL-MC334 200-disc CD changer
- Sony KA2ES cassette deck

- NO TURNTABLE!!! :sigh:

Just for the record, I would prefer two speakers and a vintage stereo receiver.

I bet those stacked DIY speakers sound nice :thmbsp:
They do, but unfortunately, they're not placed optimally (way too close together). On the bright side, those subwoofers (active + passive driver in each cab) go really deep and loud.

Cool, system. Love the Peavewaves! They deserve to be de-carpeted if you dont use them for parties ;)

Great to have a dad who's into building his own speakers btw, whish my dad was into audio.

Thank you. I'd de-carpet the Peavewaves (or build new cabs for them), but I kinda like the black/silver "industrial" look I have going on. The wood turntable adds just the right amount of contrast. The system actually looks even cooler with my Realistic STA-82, but the Pioneer sounds better with these speakers, which aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

I'd like to announce the addition of a new system. Sorry, no pics (for now). I put together a little setup for my brother's room. It consists of some equipment I wasn't using at the moment:

- Realistic STA-82 receiver
- Hacked-up KLH-17 speakers
- A laptop
- A TV/cable box

The speakers aren't placed optimally and the receiver is in the closet, plugged into the light socket, but it's better than computer speakers or worse yet, internal TV speakers.

Also, this is the equipment that I own but isn't currently in use:

- DIY 8-watt tube amp
- JVC TD-R611 cassette deck
- KLH 911B speakers (with the tweeters taken out)
- (4) KLH SAT7W outdoor speakers
- Realistic Minimus 0.3 speakers with new Tang Band drivers
- A single Dynaco A10 that I bought for center channel use but realized it was 1/4" too big for the rack

I'm also loaning my JVC AX-R551 integrated amp to a friend, whose system consists of it as well as:

- Akai AT-V04 tuner (really regret selling him this)
- JVC CD player that I don't know the model number of
- Yamaha NS-451 speakers

And yes, he got all that equipment from me. :D

That is a nice system that you put together for your brother.

And you have some nice gear in your signature.

I am sure it makes some nice music for you.

Love your system, especially the amp and e-waves! I am going against the crowd and vote to not de-carpet!
Nice system you built for your brother too.
Your dad's speakers are... breathtaking.

Great gift!

Wonder how your ewaves sound with the tube amp btw. :)
I've actually tried it, and it sounded sweet. I removed it from my setup simply due to the lack of tone controls and the fact that I had to use the Pioneer as a phono preamp, which added too much complication.

The Pioneer has more headroom anyway, which allows me to listen to (sometimes) outrageously loud levels. And it still sounds perfectly good.

And yes, my dad's speakers make anyone who visits our house take notice. They weren't exactly cheap or quick to build, either.
