I ran across a Nikko Alpha VI amplifier at what I'm thinking might be a good price. "Checked out" by a local guy - I'll talk with him and test drive before purchase.
Any thoughts on value?
Here's what hifiengine has to say:
This high power DC amplifier delivers 300 watts per channel, minimum RMS, both channels driven into 8 ohms with no more than 0.008% total harmonic distortion.
When bridged for mono operation, power output is an amazing 650 watts into 8 ohms.
Features include individual power supplies for each channel, tapped from a toroidal transformer, peak power meters and a rack mountable design.
Specifications
Power output: 300 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo), 650W into 8Ω (mono)
Frequency response: 25Hz to 100kHz
Total harmonic distortion: 0.008%
Damping factor: 150
Input sensitivity: 1V
Signal to noise ratio: 115dB
Dimensions: 482 x 182 x 465mm
Weight: 27.5kg
