Nikko Beta 50 pre amp

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Nikko alpha 450, Nikko eq-950, and a Nikko Beta 50.

I have been unable to find a manual for the Beta 50, which has some features that I am unfamiliar with. If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it.

There are 4 sets of 3 vertically aligned push button switches. The sets are labeled Tone, Sound Processor A and B, and CX NA. The top button in the set is labeled ON(lights up red when pressed), The middle Button is unlabeled(lights up red when pressed), While the bottom button is labeled Off and depresses the other two buttons in the column when pressed. Only one button per column can be ON at a time.

There are Sound Processor A and B send and return Jacks on the back of the amplifier.

Thanks

You can download a free user manual for the Beta 400 preamp at www.hifiengine.com (requires registration). There are two controls that are marked as "Processor button" and "Processor selector".
For the first, the manual says:"On the back of the panel of the preamplifier are located input/output terminals for sound processors. This button permits effects of the sound processor connected to the amplifier to be turned ON and OFF". For the second, the manual says:"This knob selects the sound source to be output to the processor".

Regarding the CX reference, wasn't that a sort of short-lived encoding for LPs (I don't remember now)?

Hope it helps.
All the best

PS: regarding the CBS CX enconding, google came to rescue!
