Got my Sx 850 last week as many know around here. Not as nice as my second one. Gave her a good cleaning inside and tried the tuner section and it worked. Cleaned the cabinet and its passable but not as good as the one I sold. Set it up in the guest room and its noisy in the preamp section on both channels. Anyone experience this problem? Going on the 'Bay to get a manual for it. Sounds like a bad cap. Sound is breaking up on phono only. Since a lot of my play time is Vinyl this has to get corrected. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Eric

It's usually bad caps. ive had a few pioneer models with this problem. One was a qx-949, another a sx-727, and the other was an 8 series, but I don't remember if it was an 850. Re-cap the pre-amp, tone board, and driver boards and you'll be amazed at the sonic difference!
