Odd cable

I was going through a pile of cables and found this small patch cord. The cable is marked Bill Lawrence in script, L500 by Belden. It has a turned brass, solderless connector on each end.

Did it go with a specific device of is it a home brew from Lawrence parts?

I was reading about Mr. Lawrence. What an convoluted company history.

Yeah, I think the low profile connectors would make a cool cable for my Fender Telecaster. Wish I could find some more of the Lawrence Belden wire.

I guess the solderless connectors were popular back then with musicians . From what I have been reading, Bill Lawrence manufactured various guitar pick-ups. The thing I find interesting is the cable, it is a signature brand of Belden cable, with his name printed on the jacket to fit his own brass connector.. . He seemed to have a reputation in the industry of ruthless competition. Marketing his own designs and slamming others.

I found this video interesting.

Solderless cables for guitar were very popular in the early 1980's.
There were a few other companies besides Bill Lawrence making them .
IIRC, George L's still makes 'em.

Yep, patch cable like I used for linking floor effects. I have 2-3 "short" BL cables similar to the one depicted in the OP.
