High School ('77) buddy asked if I want to join him at Dead & Co show.
What the heck, why not? May even try one of those left handed cigarettes! (It's been about 2 kids since I indulged :) )

I absolutely love that 5/22/77 show. Played the entire show (Dick's Picks w/ the "leftovers") on my way to the deeper recesses of WV over the 4th holiday. Show lasted 222 miles and over 3 hours. "Franklin's Tower" is a highlight.

I'm psyched about the 50th Anniversary Deluxe Anthem of the Sun arriving on July 13 and that Pacific Northwest 73/74 box. I don't buy many CDs these days, but when I do...

Re: New re-issues with 'original' mix: Aoxomoxoa and Anthem of the Sun.
Anthem hasn't arrived yet but I got Aoxomoxoa yesterday, from Rhino and pressed by RTI and it sounds muddy compared to my 1974 version which was "remixed" according to various web info.
I don't think it's the pressing, but the original mix. Any other Heads out there playing this re-issue?

Anthem of the Sun 50th anniversary reissue is superb, and side 1 remains the perfect psychedelic music experience. Love this record.

Been fascinated with the Grateful Dead's concert, 4-12-78 Cameron Indoor Stadium, Durham, NC. The band was "ON" big time that night. Bertha and Good Lovin' are spectacular. Jerry was a "rock star" that night, I wish I had a recording of it. Missing about 13min. of Jerry singing during the beginning, but still great.
