For a whole lot less money, my Yamaha M-80 runs pure Class A up to 40 wpc, if more is needed it switches to Class AB up to a conservative 250 wpc. Great amplifier, too.

I had a Luxman M120A amp and C120A pre-amp. Duo B circuit, and all of the bells and whistles. I thought it sounded a little sterile, so I traded the amp and pre for a McIntosh C-28 pre-amp and a Dynaco 416. Not as clean, but more headroom and for the speakers I had (Klipsch La Scalas) sounded quite nice.
