jht: Thanks for sharing and very wise words at that. I understand that emptiness and commend your giving love to those cats. If we can't give some hope to the hopeless sometimes, be they animal or human, our lives are a waste. We've talked about volunteering at the shelter but as working folks it's hard to find the time. If we lived down in Phoenix we'd likely be helping fostering labs at the organization Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue, the folks who hooked us up with Sarge. We all can't save them all, but we can make a difference to some! I think we'll be rescuing some pup later, perhaps when one of us can retire. In the meantime my neighbors' dogs and my son'd two rescues get lots of love when I see them!
