That may indicate that the protection circuit is doing it's job shutting the relay off because of high DC voltage on the output. If that's the case, replacing the relay won't fix it. When does it "fail?" Is it while you are playing the receiver or when you first turn it on? Do you have a DC voltmeter? If so, measure the DC voltage at the speaker terminals.
