Onkyo TX-NR801 Question

Anybody have any experience with these?


I just bought an NR801, and hooked it up. It hooked up to the PC easily, and I was able to play MP3's almost immediately. At some point "something" loaded into it or seems to have locked it and in the display (when on Net-tune) it displays "1 TR" and nothing happens. I have tried re-booting, powering down, even disconnecting power supply overnight - nothing changes it. Everything else works fine. And of course their Customer service is closed over the weekend!

I had the same issue

I also ran into the same issue couple of times and lastly figured it out, when i try to play some specific music files, the system goes into this weird mode.

this is the solution i found after doing lot of research..
rebooting the PC or powering off the receiver doesn't seems to help. Even completly removing the installed software doesn't seems to help.

If you physically power cycle the receiver(remove the power card), then run the net-tune central software on the PC and then try to play the music.. (don't try the same music files as it will lock you again..)
