Both sound sweet and it really depends on the synergy between speakers. The 9090 will get the edge in overall performance and cosmetics. I have had the opportunity to try many receivers and integrated amps in the last 4 years and have gotten rid of everything else and settled on these two. I do have a Marantz 2230 being worked on and can't wait to compare it to the 2000x.
