Passive 3-way Tone Control Circuit

Hi all,

I want to build a tone control with Bass, Mid, and Treble. Would also like to do Balance and Volume. This is for line level hi fi use.

Any help with a schematic, or know of an old model that used it in the design, please let me know!

Passive will be a flat responce, same as being out of circuit with the tone controls all the way up. They can only decrease not increase tone. I've seen passive boards with treble, midrange, bass and volume controls, but not with a balance control. If your wanting to boost tone you will need active tone controls. The Shitte Loki is an add on active tone control unit you might look into. I've thought of getting one for the not great recordings.

2 gain pots and main volume dual gang pot will be better option since it will allow you to control input level.

Figure 18 looked interesting the first time I saw that site. I still haven't built it yet though.
