you must not be married or have a great wife. And this is my secondary high quality listening area whilst waking up or bathing.
It can really move some air in my 20`X 20` bedroom when I crank it up with the right tune/sView attachment 960896

Bozak's rule!I loved the CG's but they were just plain too much for that small room. This is only a secondary rig and I actually don't listen to it that much.
As far as comparing the Grands to the Macs I was only able to compare a single pair of the ML1C's against the CG's. The CG's really squashed the single pair of the ML1C's pretty much like they did almost every other pair of speakers I brought in to compare them to lol.

I've been married just over thirty years, but I found a good solution from the outset to the notion of "interference": a dedicated listening room. When we married, she moved into my house where the stats were in the living room (pic from '82 found a couple of pages back). Shortly afterwards, we finished the basement and the system went down there. Ten years later, we built our second home and a large dedicated space was in the plans from the outset. Our current home met the bill with a large upstairs bedroom that has the best acoustical environment yet - with near Fibonacci ("Golden Ratio") room dimensions.Yes Sir. sunrayjack12, no wife throughout my 62 years of existence. Which has allowed me to do as I wish, like basically turning my whole house into a sonic "Man Cave" with no interference.
Not really,no.BTW, does anybody know if the -x300 series had a matching tape player? Just asking. Thanks.
We are alike in some ways, I was married for 33 years and had a great wife, cancer got her.Yes Sir. sunrayjack12, no wife throughout my 62 years of existence. Which has allowed me to do as I wish, like basically turning my whole house into a sonic "Man Cave" with no interference.
Don`t get me wrong, I have always loved the Lades very much, but I`ve been independent for way too long and dislike the control that women often put on men, especially when it`s not needed. Just my practical way of looking at life.
I observed this at an early age, with growing up with 2 older, and 1 younger sisters..
I`m very fortunate to have a Super Lady Friend that I dated back in 1992 & truly fell in love with, who is now my trusted personal assistant/house keeper who takes excellent care of me 5 days a week and maintains my house to the extent that it looks like I don`t live in it, though I`m far from being a slob or messy. And she does windows and gutters too !! LOL !!
I in turn take care of her and her husband by letting them live in my deceased parent`s river front house as long as they want, that I bought out from my sisters, for no more than taxes, insurance, and general maintenance.
And she loves music as much as I do, which is great, because I play music through 4 room`s quality systems every day 365 from wakeup to evening switchover to BRDVD watching.
And back at that time(1992) I offered to marry her(my one and only attempt at marriage) and promised to take care of her for life, but she knew me better than I knew myself(OCD, detail oriented) but, she chose to remain single.
So we now have the best arraignment between us.
Thanks for your interest and comments sunray12.
Take care Sir.
Kind regards, OKB
We are alike in some ways, I was married for 33 years and had a great wife, cancer got her.
I also have a lady friend that loves music and is fine with a single style arrangement.
I am raising two grand kids 15 and 16, along with home schooling them, they are great kids.
We have music playing at all times from multiple systems.
I will never get married again, it was nice but no bed of roses at times.
I now am king of my domain , TV is gone , no video games in the house just wall to wall stereo's .
We all have a nice quite calm life here, the kids both have the vintage stereo's of their choice and love them.
I must say, you are a rare bird that can navigate life for 62 years and do it on your own terms, my hat's off to you sir.
Very nice talking with you sir.
Thanks Mike, and again my condolences for yours.
Not really,no.
The one (KX-620) in the catalogs I've seen from that era (1976 & 1977) is technically the "mate" to the Model 600 integrated amp.
And IIRC those Model xxx components are'nt quite as wide as the x300 components are.
Now there may have been something a bit later on,but I dunno, would hafta check to see if there is a catalog that shows such.
HTH
BTW,sweet stack,I have the KA-7300/KT-7300 (w/D-7 handles) w/a SA-90 spectrum analyzer and a pair of LS-408b speakers.

My little man-cave
Well, this is my baby.
Just cleared out a heap of junk out of my loft to create my room of Zen.
Having a second floor has its benefits
SPEAKERS: Pioneer CS-629
AMP: TEAC BX-500
TAPE DECK: TEAC CX-210
TUNER: Pioneer CX-606
TT: Pioneer SPL-110
CD DECK: Pioneer PD-M40
This whole system was on a REAL budget
I wanted a real retro set up like the systems of the 70s
I fell in love with a TEAC BX-500 amp and went from there
It has a nice low-fi vibe...bottom end thump and surprising mids
I really enjoy listening to "Nights With Alice Cooper" on the radio
It really heaves thru this system
Physical Graffiti from Led Zeppelin totally pumps
I try to keep away from all the modern boutique stuff...I leave that to the audiophiles
