Here it is, my first own thread. Sony love starts in the very late 70s beginning 80s. I bought some TA-3140 and a TA-4300F secondhand to drive some DIY Loudspekers. In this days it was cheap, because people don't like this oldschool stuff anymore. Used this for about ten years and replaced it in the beginning 90s with the newer black Esprit stuff.

Haven't sold the silver amps, they had been stored well over decades. After a change of residence i've got a new room with the oportunity to place some music. So i bought a TA-2000F and a ST-5140 to aplicate some music into that room. Only have a picture in very poor quality from this time:

If i remember right this was 2012/13. From this point things began to develop. New TT, furnitures and some reorganisation:L1050097.JPG

Replaced the ARCUS AS-5 with Yamaha NS-670 and bought a TA-3200F:

Replaced the Marantz Modell 6300 with a Sony PS-2250:

Found some Sony SS-3100 and replaced the Yamaha NS-670:

Spakers need to come a litte higher and i needed space for vinyl:

Added a TC-755 instead of the MC and a pair of JBL 4310 wich are active driven.

The Sony SS-3100 sound beter than the Yamahas. I have two pairs of them, one all original and one improved wit Focal tweeter and modified X-over. I use the improved ones and like them a lot. Here are som pics from restoration and rebuild:

Yo can see, they are tirampable. I did this with the 4310 as well. Connect each of the 3 speakers direktly to a amp. Frequencies are devided by Sony TA-4300F active crossover. XO in JBL 43xx or L100 is really simple and cheap, with correct dividing the frequencies they work much more precise.

todo this, you need a active XO, 3 amps and cables.

Sweet sweet Sony stack!! Quite the collection! & great pics - thanks for sharing!
Kind of defines 'silver face' for me.
I have the 2000F (non-export model, with smooth knobs), an stc7000 (currently in a zillion bits for rehab, 2000F next up), and a 2251 w/SME&V15. Always wanted one of the amps & tuner to match the 2000, which is sweeeet.
Is your 2250 speed-stable? Mine isn't anymore, and is "on the list" to get to repairing. Don't have much vinyl anymore, so low priority.
Enjoy!

Beautiful. Is that a custom base/plinth/arm board? The wood grain match is very pretty.
Inspires me to get back to researching the fixes for the speed issues again.
Thanks!
