Pictures of Vintage GM cars!

65 Chevelle for ya

Heya - Wanted to add my ride to all the nice ones on this post. I put her up for the winter today.....had to let her growl a bit beforehand though! My neighbors love me....

427 built, Muncie 4 speed, high gear....she's nasty!

1978 Chevette

A car similar to this one was the first car my mother had. Only ours had a different color: it was light brown.

could this be a '29 Durant?

That's my dad and his brother, with his mom and her friend in the car. Dunno if anybody that would know the car model can see enough of it to tell...

I like this one better. I believe it was painted and maintained by a very young Don Phrudome.
Nope, it was Tommy Ivo.

I know it's a 66, but not sure if it's an Impala or Bel-Air... since it's a post car I'm going to say Bel-Air. :scratch2:

Sure is a pretty one though! :thmbsp:

I stuck a couple of my late Father-In-Law's cars in the Ford thread, but he loved his GMs, too. I have a feeling he'd get a real kick out of these pictures being out there for all to appreciate, so I hope you all enjoy.

The BelAir was something he picked up from a junkyard, and slowly restored. In these pics it's got an Earl Sheib paint job & a bent bumper, but he was really proud of that thing.

The GTO story goes something like this: "I tell you, I couldn't get out of my driveway without getting a ticket in that thing. No joke."

The LeMans was really his pride & joy, pretty sure it was his first brand new car. I think these shots were from Easter Sunday- I love this picture of Sue, my Mother-In-Law, looking like Winona Ryder.

Have fun...

What does it say on the front fender of the GTO?

Looks like "The Stinger"... :scratch2:

My dad had a 57 Chevy back in the day... he always talked about that car.

It was a Bel-Air, two door hardtop, with what he told me to be a "210 power
pack". The car had a 283 V8 with a four barrel carb, dual exhaust with glass
packs, 4:11 posi rear gears, with a three on the tree tranny with overdrive.

Copper color with a white top and a two tone black & white interior.

Dad had to sell it when he tried to teach Mom how to drive a stick...

He kept saying, "All she wanted to do was flat tear holes in the pavement"! :)

Way to go Mom! :D

Some more Chevys

Gotta go back a few years but my first car was a mint 1964 Impala 4-door - 283 Powerglide. Next up was a '66 Chevy II - same powertrain - not my best car but quicker than the '64.

Few years later I picked up a gorgeous '67 Impala SS 396. This was my driver for a long time - 72,000 miles. Excellent ride!
