Pilot 602 Can Capacitor Question

Hi - I've got a quick question, but longer explication.

As mentioned, I've got the 602 in good operating condition without a case.

I've recently acquired a case but have run into a problem with a replacement can capacitor (C1 on the schematic) that is too tall for the case.

The schematic calls for an 80/40 400v. The replacement can is 40/40/40/40 450v and whoever did the replacement joined each of 2 legs to make 2 80uf capacitors (I think).

Now for the question: should I go with the schematic or the replacement when I remove the can?

The receiver sounds great as is, with a slight but noticeable hum.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly its not going to make a ton of difference. 80uf is 80uf no matter how you slice it. Its a bridge rectifier, so its not going to have max first capacitor limits like a tube rectifier will. The first cap being 40uf vs 80uf may be very slightly noisier, but not significantly so. I doubt you'd ever hear it, but it might be measurable.
