Pioneer HPM100 vs HPM200

Besides the wattage rating, what is the difference between Pioneer HPM100s and 200s. Are the drivers rated differently or is it just the crossovers that are different. Apologies if has already been covered, I performed a general search on HPMs and there were many, many posts. Thanks in advance.

Are you thinking of the 900? The 200 is a whole other beast, dual woofers, etc.

Well... the biggest difference I can think of is that I already own a pair of HPM-100s vs I REALLY want to own a pair of HPM-200s.

I'm guessing you mean the HPM-100 100W version vs the HPM-100 200W version but I could be mistaken.

I didn't convey my question properly, or the title of this thread! What I meant to ask is what is the difference between the 100W and 200W versions of the HPM100 model.

Marketing is the main difference. Other than that, next to nothing besides silver trim around the port. I've rebuilt 4 sets of crossovers over the years on the 4 sets I've owned and sold. Nothing different in parts and drivers.

Slight difference in drivers (differing part numbers), and differences in driver phasing (relative to the crossover). Cosmetically, the port hole sports a brushed aluminum ring on the 200W versions.

My triple stack sports the 200W versions at the top and bottom, and the 100W version in the middle. Mine play well together, but there is a risk to incorrect driver phasing, if anyone has been into them.

Enjoy,
Rich P
