I almost bought a Pioneer linear tracking TT around 1980-82 that I thought was very nice. Now I can't remember the model number.... Does anyone recall one from that era that was nice and did it stand the test of time?

PL-L1 (Japan only)?
PL-L1000 (big, with a dial for arm movements)?
PL-L800 (gold colored)?

Thanks Axel,

It may have been the PL-L800. It was not black. I seem to recall a silver base.

I had the PLL800 but I think it was actually a PL L800s but I cannot be to sure. I got it when I bought my A70 amp. It was Linar tracking with a moving coil cartridge. But the funny thing was Pioneer called it a high output moving coil and stated that it was to be used in the MM position instead of the MC position. I didnt listen an used the MC position. It just played louder. An excellent turntable I thought. I would love to have another one. I have seen a few on the bay.

I own both versions of the Pioneer Made Phase Linear model 8000 TT's and now both of my non Linear tracker's are for sale :thmbsp:
