Pioneer SA-706 Intermittent Shut Down

Hello There,

I have found a beautiful Pioneer SA-706.

But there is a small problem....

There is some intermittent shut down.

Explanation:

  • Sometimes it's only the relay that switches off, (the green power led and the light of the V meter stay on) and the relay switches back on by himself. At this moment, I have noticed that the light of the V meter starts to flicker. (Low voltage at the coil of the relay??)

  • Sometimes the sound starts to fade away in one of the speaker and soon the relay switch off. and the relay switches back on.

I have dismounted the relay, the contacts are clean. I have soldered back the relay and the problem stays the same.

I have noticed that the Q26 is quiet hot; you can almost not touch the heat sink. I have redone the solders of the Q26, but the problem stays the same.

When the amplifier is on the sound on both speaker are great.

I hope you can help me with this beautiful amplifier!
I really want to bring it back to life.
