Pioneer stable platter not spinning

My Pioneer PD-32 will not spin the disc. I can hear something trying to engage (electronic switch) inside the unit when I push play. The display goes blank for a second like it's searching for a disc and then the display goes back to displaying all zeros. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ken

OK. Just opened it up and the lens is missing. Can't locate it inside the unit. Is this something that can be purchased?

More than likely the lens is in your unit some where or very close to the unit. The lens glue just gives up the ghost and it falls on the platter. You may be able to still buy a lens assembly for that player. That being said it will cost you around $100 bucks or so and then you still have to install it. May be better to just find another player.
