For the record all new fuses did not change anything.
I did clean up the remaining pins and put it all back together. Afterwards it did pass protection mode for a few minutes. I was able to listen to about 2 minutes using a sonos for input and headphones, and it sounded good on both channels until the protection mode kicked back in.
It is at a local shop getting an estimate to repair.
Going to pick up the repaired receiver from the shop today.
Update : Listened to it for two days now and it sounds great. My son laughs about how we can listen to it from another part of the house.
What did they do and/or replace?
rebuilt the protection and stabilzer boards.
Glad all is well. Tell your son he can listen to it from down the street!
