Pipe Organ Recommendations

I had some time ot kill waiting for a MD appointment last week, so I wandered into Trinity Church at Broadway & Wall Street. I was lucky in that the Organist was performing on the church's magnificent (7000+) pipe organ. Nothing quite like hearing a pipe organ getting a workout, an impressive instrument to hear live.

I forgot you were local.
I never would have thought to do that.
I'll have to try and remember to give that a try next time I'm downtown

symphony for organ #6 in G minor opus 42-the first movement (Allegro) played by Jan Kraybill scores super high for me these days

Actually, I was in the National Presbyterian Church in downtown Wash, DC last week ... the chapel was not in use but I slipped in to have a look. Pix here - #201

Turns out they have a HUGE 7000+ pipe organ in that space - I did not know to slip behind the curtains for a look - but the next day I was reading about the pipe organ
and found pictures of the pipes hidden behind curtains behind the altar.

I have some Cds of their pipe organ I got a couple years back ...
Nice, but not like the Delos or Dorian recordings ...

Virgil Fox or E. Power Biggs. The former is more flamboyant, the latter is more traditionalist, both will give your speakers a workout with the right recording.
