Which albums gave written instructions to play at maximum volume for best results? I remember seeing quite a few back in the day. It would be fun to identify the earliest and latest examples.

I know I have a few but I can't seem to think of any. This cassette came to mind, though:

I know Twisted Sister included a cleverly worded directive in "Stay Hungry" that went something like this: "In order to obtain maximum sensory enjoyment from this recording, it is necessary minimize resistance in the preamplification stage. I.E. - PLAY IT LOUD MUTHA!"

Johnny Winter-Second Winter! The album was released as a three sided gatefold set with side four being blank. It was stated on the album that this was to allow wider groove tracks to enhance loudness

The Cure album Disintegration said in the liner notes:

"This album was mixed to be played loud, so turn it
    up!"
