This morning on the way back from Gaston, NC, I was listening to a CD of the film soundtrack, Last King of Scotland. Picked up a General Electric console record player/AM*FM radio. High Fidelity. She is a beauty.
Long before the term "disco" came into use, what were known at the time (early `70s) as "Funky Dance Clubs" began springing up around the NYC/NJ Metro area, and they played a lot of African music. Osibisa was one of my favorites....
Would be nice to see this become an active thread. I'll be posting YT videos as that allows someone to listen easily and see if further listening might be warranted. Just my lazy a** preference.
