Love them tube cages! Steampunkt before Steampunkt was cool!

I had some fun with photoshop for a concept drawing of a Steampunkt Latino ST120.

steampunkt-VTA-ST120.jpg

Basically a mini cage for the driver board, and a front end that just clips to the stock chassis. I'll probably never do it, so feel free to steal it ...

go to office depot look in desk oganizer area see items with small mesh screen and wire in many shapes and sizes for letters and allsorts of uses.
can easily be made into cages for amps. very cool.

My Fisher X202 has been put into service. Still need to get jewels for the faceplate, but it's done other than that. Have the cabinet, but I like to run it open for cooling

A handsome collection of amplifiers, with special note of the Dynaco & DGSE-1's !
Did you build the Dynaco? if yes, any forum post describing your efforts?

The Dynaco was originally built out (by me) back when I was a graduate student in the 1990s. Since then it has been steadily upgraded over the years (with the last little bits the addition of Dave Gillespie's EFB). I don't have a build thread, since much of the amp's life predates AudioKarma as we know it now - however, I'd be happy to create a separate forum post with what I can remember from the build and with any photos I might have laying about on my hard drive / Flickr.

Thanks,

-D

Nice gear everyone!
Here are pictures of a "home brew" amp. (in an old thread) I did using my own design, thinking along the lines of "if the 20000 leagues under the sea" submarine had such a grand pipe organ, what type of stereo amplifier would be used?

I am thinking some old "slider" stop controls might make nice controls for a preamp build for this?

drtool, thanks, I use Klipsch LaScalas and Chorus II's. They seem efficient enough and 4.8 watts out of the Maggie is plenty. I'm picking up the SE/UL from Dave G this weekend, can't wait to hear it. The Se/UL is low powered as well. :)

Congrats Al, I hope to try out some day a Dave G anything on my La Scalas.

He added 9db of NFB and that helped a bunch on this. He also spent some time explaining pentode and triode tubes and it was a great learning experience for me. Been to Daves several times now and always always learn a bunch! He has in the past re done all my Fishers! :) Al
