Wow I was wondering how long it would take before Marantz had its own forum. Anyway I have 2 2270s, the first one got destroyed in the mail and I just use it for spare parts. Eventually a Thorens TD-125 and a pair of JBL L100s or 4311s will accompany it. Right now I play it through a pair of Polk RT10s I think they are.

Here are a few of my units.:
Marantz 1200b with Woodcase

The 4400 scope 2x125Watt stereo 2 quadrophonic 4 receiver

(i have two green and blue)

a set marantz 3300 + 250 (original motorola power transistors and drivers)

some what newer but still a superscope disign
marantz Pm700Dc and scope tuner ST600L (FM LW and MW)

a very popular reciver the marantz 2275 (i also have the 2270)

I still think this is one of the best middle class receivers.
marantz 4270 stereo 2 quadro 4 reciever with SQ2 and woodcase

also a very popular item. is the 3200 and the 140 main amplifier.
i think i have had 6 of these stes.

a strange set but it works fine.
marantz 2440 adaptor with a 140 main amplifier

middle class amplfier marantz 1152DC
sounds great

this it but a little top of my collection. i have much more

I ditto HAL9000 'i like marantz!!!'

Receivers:
1ea 2385
3ea 2330B
2ea 2325
1ea 2285BD
3ea 2285B
2ea 2775
2ea 2270
1ea 2238B
2ea 2218
1ea 2216B

Tuners:
2ea 150
1ea 120B

Amps:
1ea 510M
1ea 30

For all those bitten with the Marantz bug.. enjoy!!!

I've been stashing Marantz receivers and Advent speakers since 1999 when I sold my previous obsession which was a closet full of Dynaco & AR equipment and speakers. Other than the Dynaco ST70, which I miss a little, I find the bottom end tighter and the midrange sweeter. Currently my shelves hold 1070, 2010, 2010 (yep two), 2015, 2230, 2230 in walnut (two of those to), 2235ß, 2235ß (two of those to!), 2240ß, and an in progress power amp being built from the remains of a 2240 parts doner. I usually use the 2235ß driving three pair of Large Advents, two stacked one beside. Music sources are a Thorens TD160 tt and a Pioneer CD player. :music:

Finally, pics!

Here you go:

Two 2500's

Stack that consists of a 510M, 3600, and 120 tuner

I'll snap off a pic of the 18 and add it somewhere
Oh, and as some believe, the Greatest sounding receiver of all, the 2285B! Well, ok....

Hi
newbie to AK just bought my first Marantz receivers off ebay today 2245 the guy calling it a 9.5 we will see. cant wate.

Well here we go:

Utility Room: 2230B
Formal Living Room: 2235B
Family Room: 2240B and 2270
Son's Bedroom: 2238
My Upstairs Office: 2245 and 2250
Master Bedroom: 2240B
Out for Repair: 2250B (Moderate hum after it's on more than 30 minutes)
2250B (Power goes on and off...unfortunately by itself)

All of the units except the 2250Bs are in WC-22 cases and all are hooked up to speakers, mostly JBLs. I have one unused WC-22. The first 2250B I get back gets it!

My favorite? I have to go with the 2250 at this point but that could be because of the speakers (JBL 4312s) and their location in the room in which they're in. Definitely sounds sweet! The 2270 and 2245 are also right up there.

Agreed. :bash:

Turn them all on, hook them all up to the same source, and you have potentially at least 448 watts per channel of unclipped Marantz powah. Somehow, that just ain't fair...:grumpy:

Marantz PM-450

Hi,
I know, if it has letters before the numbers, it's not a "Classic" Marantz and I am not claiming it is.
But it looks and sounds good to me:

I would consider the PM-series models 64, 74, 84, & 94 "classics" too, but that's just me. Your 450 looks good.

Just bought a Digital camera the other day. Now I need to figure out how to post pictures here on AK.
I'll do a search later today. In the mean time, any suggestions on how to post them?
