Rack Mount Handles

I'm not certain, but I believe there are only two sizes of rack mount handles made by Sansui for their late 70's gear. Can someone tell me if the rack mounts for the AU-217/317 fits the AX-7? They all look about the same height.

Thanks,
Kevin

Yes they are same for AU-217/317/AX-7

There are at least 5 different rackhandles. For the AU 117/317/AX7, for the AU 417/919, for the BA F1/SC5330, for the CA F1. The 5th one is for? I don't know.

So then I was right -- there are only two sizes!

I had no idea there were so many different sizes. Thanks for enlightening me.

My SE-7 has different ones than my AU-919/TU-919 does, FWIW. They look like the same but one is plastic and the others are metal.

Yes they have different parts numbers as well.
Even rackhandles for AU/TU919 are different referring to part number.

Following information about the different sizes of Sansui Rack Handles can be found by searching AK:

1. Tiny for CA-F1 - these don't have actual handles but are mounting "ears".
2. Small for AU/TU- 117 217 317 AX-7.
3. Inbetween small-medium for SE-8 equaliser + D-350/550M cassette deck (and possibly others)
4. Medium for SC Casette Decks + SE-7 equaliser
5. Large for AU/TU 417 517 717 917 819 919.
6. Jumbo for BA-F1. + SC-5330 cassette deck

Most of them available in steel and plastic, see earlier thread(s) on AK.

Wow, that's amazing. You people really know your Sansui's!

Thanks, Michael and Stene, for taking the time to reply. Have a great day!

Dear Tinnkindling!

You are right. The BA-5000 and also the AT-15L are mountable. But the listings in this thread contain only the Rack Mounting Adaptors, f. e.

SE-9

... or ...

AU-D5/7

What about the sansui AU-519, TU-519,
This is the same size as the TU/AU 517, 717, 519,719, 919 and EQs like the SE-7 and many other components. It's the most common size but the 519 had plastic handles like the SE-7, best replaced with metal ones. I had a mint AU-519 and my friend now has it, kinda rare and it was only around for one year.
