Realistic/Shure stylus upgrade

I have a Realistic LAB-440 turntable with a Realistic/Shure R1000 cartridge. I still have the original stylus which is an RS8T. Will the Shure N97-ED be compatable as a good upgrade from the $12 generic equivelent I keep seeing?

Here`s another one I found which is a little cheaper. Would the more expensive one from Radio Shack be a compatable upgrade over this one?

Thanks!

Welcome to the AK turn table forum.

There are many type and level of stylus to fit the Shure/Realistic R1000 xx cartridge.

The ones in your links are elliptical stylus.

The next level up are the hyper elliptical stylus.

They do cost more along with better performance.
